's wedding florist has revealed that she is turning her back on weddings altogether as she makes a veiled dig at "pushy brides". Speaking during a recent podcast appearance, Willow Crossley, 42, shared a major announcement about her plans for the future.
While Philippa Craddock was on hand to dress St George's Chapel in Windsor in 2018, the couple employed Willow to dress the glass marquee at Frogmore House - which is where they held their reception. She was also asked by the couple to create a display for their son Archie's christening in 2019 - as well as a in 2021.
Discussing her decision to give up weddings, she appeared to give the interesting reason behind her decision. She told The Chromologist podcast: "I started out doing quite a lot of weddings and they're very emotional."
She continued: "Also, with a wedding, you have to rein it in a bit and you have to do what the bride wants. You have to stick to the bride's vision. So now I do fewer weddings."
Willow has also revealed that she is now focusing her work on what she enjoys most. She revealed that this work includes "big installations and growing my shop - and maybe working on a festivals".
She also recalled one major disastrous meeting that appears to have stuck with her, adding: "I remember sitting with a bride and groom, and this man said, "I really don't know why you're here. I hate flowers." And his poor wife-to-be was crying next to him, saying, "I love flowers - they're my best bit."'
Previously speaking at the time of Meghan and Harry's evening reception, a source spoke of the "divine" display of flowers created by Willow.
The source said: "The flowers were divine. They were Meghan's favourites and artfully arranged in glass jam jars and vintage jugs. They made the marquee look stunning."
They added: "[Harry and Meghan] were introduced to Willow through some friends who highly recommended her. They got along well and have spent quite a bit of time together.
"Meghan loves Willow's flowers and her sense of style. She's a very cool, understated girl who wouldn't want anyone to know she was involved with the royal wedding, but she played quite a key part doing all the flowers for the night and making sure the tables looked beautiful."
