BPSC AE Recruitment 2025: Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is going to end the registration process for the posts of Assistant Engineer (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) soon. Interested and eligible candidates can apply by visiting the official website of the commission till May 28, 2025. This recruitment drive is being conducted to fill a total of 1024 vacancies, who will be appointed as Assistant Engineers in various departments.

Criteria related to educational qualification
Candidates applying for the post of Assistant Engineer must have a bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering from a recognized Indian university or an institution approved by AICTE. Additionally, only degrees obtained under regular technical courses from universities recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) will be considered valid. Technical degrees obtained through distance education will not be valid.

Equivalent qualifications will also be valid.

If the candidate is an associate member of the Institute of Engineers India or has passed the examinations of the branch "A" and "B" of this institute, then he will also be considered eligible. Apart from this, if a candidate has obtained other degrees by passing the examination equivalent to "A" and "B" from other institutions recognized by the Institute of Engineers India, then he will also come under the category of eligibility.

Age limit and relaxation

The minimum age of the candidate applying for this recruitment should be 21 years, which will be counted on 1 August 2024. Reserved categories (like SC, ST, OBC, etc.) will get age relaxation as per government rules. This relaxation will be given based on letter no. 212 of Bihar Government, dated 23 January 2006. There is a provision of different relaxations for different categories, which will be applicable as per the fixed cut-off date.

Pay Scale

Candidates selected for the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) will be provided a pay scale under Level-09. Grade pay for this post has been fixed at Rs 5400, which will be applicable as per the pay scale rules of the state government.

Application Fee
SC/ST/Female candidates of Bihar state and Divyang category candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 200, while a fee of Rs 750 is applicable for unreserved category candidates and applicants from other states.
