Lucknow : A major accident was averted on Wednesday at Lucknow's Aishbagh railway station. A train derailed in the state's capital. The engine of the train derailed a few steps away from the Aishbagh railway station. There was a commotion as the electric pole broke due to the derailment of the train engine.

The engine of Krishak Express derailed during shunting in the station yard of Aishbagh at around 12:30 pm. Due to this, Chhapra-Mathura train was affected.

The OHE wire was also broken due to the derailment of the engine. According to railway authorities, currently, only one train Chhapra-Mathura has been affected.

No casualties were reported in the accident, the route of Aishbagh yard remained blocked for about 2 hours. The yard route was restored after one and a half hours.

Soon after the derailment RPF (Railway Protection Force) and Railway personnel rushed at the spot. The derailment occurred allegedly due to a fault in the engine's wiring.

Krishank Express operates daily and covers a distance of 513 kilometres from Varanasi City to Lucknow Junction.
