Swifties were disappointed over Taylor Swift’s absence at the 2025 American Music Awards in Las Vegas. They were in hope of her surprise appearance including an announcement of Reputation (Taylor’s Version). The singer received nominations in six major categories, namely Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for The Tortured Poets Department, however did not win any.

Previously she made virtual appearance and accepted awards with a gratitude note. However, in the present edition, she chose utmost silence.

Taylor Swift’s absence at the AMAs

According to a report by Daily Mail she avoided the AMAs seeking the incumbent legal scuffle involving her former friend, Blake Lively. “She avoided the AMAs because she didn’t want to deal with 1000s of questions about the Blake Lively saga,” a source unleashed.

The lawsuit features brawl between Lively and her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni which incidentally introduced Swift’s name into the files. This month she was also subpoenaed by Baldoni’s legal team, however, the claim was taken back soon after.

As per an insider, Swift’s father, Scott Swift, has been alleged to give some piece of evidence to Baldoni’s lawyers that Lively had ‘threatened to leak’ if Swift refuses to support. “Taylor is really tired of it,” the insider stated. “She does not want to keep dealing with it and is desperate to move on.”

Swift-Kelce finds solace

Swift has been keeping a low profile since then with boyfriend Travis Kelce. The NFL star also unfollowed Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, the previous month. The source claimed that her family and friends are keeping her upright amidst the odds.

The couple now resides in Florida and Pennsylvania away from the spotlight for time being.

Even though the artist didn’t win any awards this edition, sources claimed that she did not expressed any concern. She affirmed that an award cannot justify her value, talent and relevance.
