New Delhi: Deepika Padukone’s exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s next film titled Spirit in which she appears opposite Prabhas, has not gone well. While she has been replaced by Tritpi Dimri in the movie, constant news is coming out of a kind of rift between the director and the actress.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga has come to establish himself as one of the most sought after directors after his mega-hit Animal. It starred Ranbir Kapoor in the lead and also featured Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna and Triptiii Dimri.

Since then his next title Spirit, dubbed to be pan-global, with South superstar Prabhas in the lead has been highly anticipated.

Row ensues

While earlier it was expected that Deepika Padukone was expected to star opposite Prabhas in Sandeep Vanga Reddy’s next, according to a report in media publication Bollywood Hungama,  “Sandeep Reddy Vanga got the shock of his life when Deepika Padukone refused to shoot for more than six hours a day for Spirit. That’s not all—the actress, via her agency, also began to demand amendments to the contract. Their main contention was simple: if the shoot extended beyond 100 days, Deepika would need to be paid extra for every single day beyond the agreed schedule.”

This eventually led to Deepika’s exit from the film and her being replaced by Triptii Dimri. After Deepika’s removal, Sandeep Reddy Vanga took to X to announce that Triptiii Dimri will be the female lead in Spirit. He wrote, “The female lead for my film is now official.” Dimri also shared the post on Instagram, writing, “Still sinking in…. So grateful to be trusted with this journey. Thank you @sandeepreddy.vanga ..honoured to be a part of your vision.”

Deepika’s exit was said to be due to her demanding things like a share of the film’s profit and 8 hour daily work schedule. This move by Deepika has caused some pushback online and while attending a Cartier event she spoke to Vogue Arabia where she discussed the philosophy of her life. Many think some of her comments in this video are directly aimed at Reddy and her ousting from his film.

“I think what keeps me balanced is just being truthful, being authentic,” Deepika said in the interview. She further saiw, “And whenever I am faced with, say, complicated situations or difficult situations, to be able to listen to my inner voice and just make decisions, stand by decisions that give me peace. That is when I feel most in equilibrium.” Fans are now speculating this to be Deepika’s reaction to the Spirit controversy.
