According to a News18 report, veteran actor Nana Patekar was considered for the role of Mahesh Babu's father in 'SSMB29'. Last year, SS Rajamouli reportedly traveled to the ' Housefull 5 ' actor's farmhouse in Pune to personally narrate the script. Despite Rajamouli's efforts, Nana Patekar politely declined the offer, finding the role unappealing.

Despite being offered a substantial remuneration of Rs 20 crore for just 15 days of shooting, Nana Patekar remained firm in his decision not to take on the role. However, he expressed interest in working with SS Rajamouli on a future project.
