Delhi's Government Marks 100 Days in Office

The government led by Rekha Gupta in Delhi is approaching the completion of its first 100 days. In response, the BJP is preparing to highlight its achievements during this period. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is actively criticizing the BJP government. AAP has released a report card detailing what it describes as the failures of the BJP's Delhi government over the past 100 days. Atishi, the leader of the opposition in the Delhi Assembly and an AAP member, stated that the BJP has turned life in Delhi into a nightmare. Instead of making improvements or fulfilling promises, the BJP has even overturned policies that have been in place for the last decade.

AAP's Report Card on BJP's Governance

Atishi emphasized that today, AAP is unveiling the report card on the BJP government's first 100 days of failure. She claimed that the BJP has failed on all fronts in Delhi. The party intends to distribute this report card to every household in the city. Many residents now feel they made a mistake by voting for the BJP. She accused the government of crippling the electricity supply and increasing electricity costs. Additionally, she pointed out that the promises made to provide ₹2,500 to women by March 8 and free gas cylinders during Holi have not been fulfilled. Private schools have also raised their fees.

Concerns Over Water Supply and Pollution

The former Chief Minister highlighted the ongoing water crisis in Delhi, noting a significant reduction in supply. Residents are reportedly facing issues with sewage water entering their homes. The rising pollution levels are alarming, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) surpassing 500 as early as May. Initiatives like the Farishtey Scheme and Mohalla Clinics have been shut down, leaving many workers unemployed. Furthermore, pensions for 25,000 widows have been halted. The BJP government has not only failed to fulfill its promises but has also discontinued beneficial schemes for the people of Delhi.

BJP's Accountability Questioned

Saurabh Bhardwaj from AAP remarked that the BJP's 'four-engine' government is consistently spreading falsehoods. He claimed that during its first 100 days, the government has told at least 100 lies. Recently, the Chief Minister assured Mohalla Clinic staff that no one would be laid off, yet reports surfaced that over 2,000 employees are being dismissed. The buses initiated by AAP are now being operated under different names. The government's previous statements regarding fee hikes in private schools were contradicted in court.
