Innovative Digital Storytelling Initiative Launched


Dharamshala: In a significant move towards enhancing digital engagement in academia, the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) introduced its official podcast channel, named “Uncharted Tales,” on Tuesday. This initiative, led by the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication within the School of Journalism, Mass Communication and New Media, aims to inspire students to delve into creative storytelling using modern media formats.


The launch event took place on the university grounds, attended by esteemed guests and faculty. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal served as the Chief Guest and praised the department for its innovative efforts, encouraging students to embrace the realm of audio storytelling.


Prof. Bansal remarked, “This podcast initiative is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP), which promotes comprehensive and creative learning. It is essential for institutions like ours to integrate academic rigor with contemporary communication tools.”


Dr. Archna Katoch, Dean of the School of Journalism, Mass Communication and New Media, congratulated the students and faculty involved in the project, highlighting the importance of student-led initiatives in fostering media literacy, creative expression, and experiential learning.


Prof. Aditya Kant, the project coordinator and a senior faculty member, shared insights on the vision for Uncharted Tales, describing it as “a dynamic and inclusive platform that showcases untold stories, campus experiences, and engaging discussions.” He emphasized the department’s commitment to developing both technical skills and creative confidence among students.


The event was attended by several senior university officials and faculty members, including Prof. Suman Sharma (Registrar), Prof. Pradeep Kumar (Dean of Academics), Prof. Sandeep Kulshreshtha, Dr. Harsh Mishra, Dr. Monika, Dr. Chandan Anand, and Assistant Professor Deepak Vaishnav.


The podcast channel, accessible on various platforms, aims to foster dialogue, critical thinking, and public engagement, offering students practical experience in content creation, audio production, and journalistic storytelling.


The launch received enthusiastic support from the university community, with students and faculty viewing Uncharted Tales as a creative outlet and a new milestone in CUHP’s commitment to adapting to the changing media and communication landscape.
