In a recent candid interview, Tripathi not only shared his enthusiasm for reprising his iconic role as lawyer Madhav Mishra but also spoke frankly about the show’s financial impact and offered an interesting perspective on the entertainment industry.
Tripathi openly admitted that the success of “Criminal Justice” has significantly benefited him financially. “My bank balance has definitely improved because of Criminal Justice,” he stated, acknowledging the commercial success of the Disney+ Hotstar series.
He further elaborated on his view of the entertainment world, comparing it to a “milking cow” (gaye). Tripathi explained this metaphor, suggesting that while the industry provides livelihood and sustenance (like milk from a cow), it also requires care, respect, and nurturing to continue yielding benefits. “The entertainment industry is like a milking cow for us. You milk it, and it sustains you,” he remarked, implying a symbiotic relationship where artists draw from the industry, which in turn needs to be well-maintained.
The actor also expressed deep affection for his character, Madhav Mishra, who has become a fan favorite for his unconventional methods and pursuit of truth. Tripathi described Mishra as an “alter ego,” noting how the character’s simplicity, sincerity, and relatability have struck a chord with audiences across its successful seasons. He enjoys embodying the character and appreciates the widespread love Madhav Mishra has received.
