If your Android phone is suddenly finishing the battery very quickly, it can be the Instagram app behind it. Google has officially acknowledged that the main app of Instagram was spending excessive battery on Android devices for some time. Many users had already felt this problem.

Users complained
On forums like Reddit, many users stated that their phone finishes the battery quickly without much use. On investigation, it was found that the Instagram app was eating more battery in the background. Some users used the old version of Instagram, but this did not reduce the problem, but many times the phone also started to overheat.

Some people started using the Instagram Lite app, making their battery running better. This made it clear that the problem was in the main app of Instagram.

Google released official advisory
Google issued an advisory called “Battery Drain on Android Devices” and confirmed that this battery drain is being caused by the Instagram app. Google reported that Instagram has started rolling out updated apps to fix this problem.

Google says, “Please make sure you have the latest version of the Instagram app (Build 382.0.0.49.84).”

Update Instagram app immediately
If your phone is finishing the battery quickly without much use, then immediately go to Google Play Store and update the Instagram app. With the new version, your battery performance will improve and will get relief from frequent charging problems.

Instagram is used by everyone nowadays, so such problems to battery can bother a lot. The good news is that its solution is available – just an update is needed.
