Widely aired on social media, this clip is reportedly allegedly in the peak of Kovid-19 crisis in 2021, when hospitals were filled with patients and resources were less. Causar Fatima, a patient wife of Diami Azimuddin Gausuddin (53), later recovered from the disease.

What in audio

In the conversation, Dr. Deshpande was allegedly heard saying, ‘Don’t allow anyone to enter, just kill the woman (name).’ On this, Dr. Dange gave careful reply and said that oxygen aid was already reduced.

On the basis of Gausuddin’s complaint, Udgir city police on May 24 registered a case against Deshpande with the intention of hurting religious sentiments and committing malicious acts and legal provisions of other crimes.

Notice issued to doctor

Inspector Dilip Gade told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ that the police have seized Deshpande’s mobile phone, issued a notice to them and their statement is being recorded. He also said that the police is investigating the authenticity of the audio clip.

The police has also issued a notice to Dr. Dange. Gade said, ‘He is out of the district and will come tomorrow. After that we will seize their mobile phone and check.

What are the allegations

According to the FIR, the complainant said that during the epidemic in 2021, his wife Kausar Fatima (then 41 years old) was found infected with the Corona virus. He was admitted to the government hospital in Udgir on April 15, 2021 and under the management of the hospital, Kovid-19 treatment was being provided in a building in front of an eye hospital on Nanded Road. Dr. Dange was treating Kovid-19 patients at that center.

The woman was admitted there for 10 days. On the seventh day of recruitment, her husband was sitting near Dr. Dange while eating lunch. At the same time, Dr. Dange received a call from Dr. Deshpande, put it on the phone speaker and continued talks about hospital matters. During the phone call, Dr. Deshpande inquired about the availability of beds.

When Dr. Dange told him that no bed was empty, the person claimed that he had clearly heard Dr. Deshpande saying, ‘kill the patient. You have a habit of dealing with such people. ‘ According to the person’s complaint, during the conversation, he allegedly abused caste-based.

The person said that he was in shock, but considered it better to remain silent at that time because his wife was still undergoing treatment. A few days later, his wife recovered and was discharged from the hospital. However, on May 2, 2025, the audio clip of the alleged conversation appeared on social media.

The person said that hearing the same harassment comments has hurt him deeply and his religious sentiments have been hurt, especially with the alleged use of derogatory caste- comments, after which he filed a police complaint.
