With good cause, Prabhas and Vishnu Manchu’s upcoming Telugu film Kannappa is making waves right now. Prabhas and Mohanlal, two of India’s greatest performers, have important parts in the film, which is allegedly being filmed on a budget of more than Rs 200 crore. Even more amazing is the fact that neither Prabhas nor Mohanlal received payment for their efforts on the film. On June 27, 2025, the Telugu film will be released globally. With its outstanding cast, substantial budget, and captivating plot, Kannappa is sure to be a memorable film.
In an interview with SCREEN, Vishnu Machu disclosed that Prabhas had threatened to kill him, despite the fact that several tales from the film have been making the rounds on social media. “Neither Prabhas nor Mohanlal spent a dime on the role,” he claimed. They would shout at me each time I asked them to estimate their rates. “Itne bade aadmi hogaye ho ki humein paise doge?” they would ask. “Said Vishnu Manchu. “He went on to say that this interaction irritates both of the performers. His words were, “Prabhas threatened to kill me.”
In the meanwhile, Vishnu Manchu also thanked Mohanlal and Prabhas for their assistance. “Mohanlal and Prabhas were two individuals that tremendously assisted me in creating the movie as it is now. Since Mohanlal is such a tremendous superstar, he didn’t actually need to play a little part in my movie, but he decided to do it in less than a minute because he loved and respected my father,” he stated. Vishnu Manchu further said that Akshay Kumar paid far less than his usual costs, even though Prabhas and Mohanlal worked on the Kannappa film for free.
