In April this month, a report suggested that Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph are set to release ' Drishyam 3 ' not just in Malayalam but also in Hindi. The report suggested plans of a Pan-India release for the Mohanlal starrer which raised doubts about the Hindi version of 'Drishyam 3' starring Ajay Devgn . This would raise trouble for the Ajay Devgn starrer as that was consumed by the north audiences. But if the original itself releases in Hindi, would people want to see another Hindi version? This would create a major competition between the two movies.
Amidst these doubts around 'Drishyam 3', the Ajay Devgn starrer is finally confirmed. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama , the film has been confirmed in a formal announcement filed with the Bombay Stock Exchange on May 29, 2025 under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements. The production house Panorama Studios has confirmed the same. This letter states that once again Ajay Devgn will star in the lead role and Abhishek Pathak will direct the third part after he directed ' Drishyam 2 '.
Clearly, fans of the Hindi franchise will be quite excited with this news and would be waiting for it. The first two parts of 'Drishyam' have done phenomenally well at the box office. But apart from that, they've also become a huge part of the pop culture with the whole October 2 schedule of Vijay Salgaonkar and his family.
Incidentally, just as the news gets confirmed today, Ajay Devgn was asked about 'Drishyam 3' at the trailer launch of 'Maa' in Mumbai on May 29. As he was about to answer the question, the host requested that this is not the platform to talk about 'Drishyam 3' and thus it was avoided.
But fans can now get happy as the project is greenlit and people cannot wait for it. 'Drishyam' and 'Drishyam 2' both starred Tabu and the movies were also largely about Vijay Salgaonkar Vs Meera Deshmukh, so the actress could very much be a part of the third installment but there's no confirmation on that as of now.
The second part also starred Akshaye Khanna.
