Benjamin Sesko could solve two huge Mikel Arteta problems if he joins Arsenal from RB Leipzig in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Despite links to Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres ramping up in recent weeks, the 21-year-old is Mikel Arteta's favoured striker signing and negotiations have now started with the Bundesliga club over a transfer, according to

Their report claims a meeting between Marcel Schafer and Andrea Berta has already taken place in London but that Arsenal being able to afford the financial package to sign him is another matter. His release clause is over £67million (€80m), though discussions are ongoing regarding a payment structure.

Arsenal paying for Sesko's services using instalments will be useful when it comes to sanctioning other signings.

Following that move and hope that Sesko also joins, football.london has already reported that a new defender, back-up goalkeeper and wide forward are also being targeted.

On the latter, Nico Williams of Athletic Club is Arteta's preferred signing but their Champions League qualification and his lofty wages make a deal difficult to complete.

If the Gunners can add the Brazilian to their attacking ranks, Arteta will have two elite-level attackers alongside Bukayo Saka. The Hale End graduate has been relied upon a lot for goals and assists over the last few years but some pressure could be taken off if that double transfer is completed.

Both Rodrygo and Sesko could also have an impact on two other Arteta favourites with the latter likely to be hugely influential. Martin Odegaard looked like a bargain at £40million from Real Madrid, but he has endured an extremely disappointing season with his creative output minimal since returning from injury in November.

Having a dominant box presence to aim crosses and through balls into could change matters however, with Sesko a very different type of striker in comparison to Kai Havertz.

Interestingly, the Germany international is another that could hugely benefit from Sesko's arrival given how he can thrive playing as a second striker. While he has certainly held his own up top, it still remains unclear exactly what his best position is.

Considering it cost £65million to sign him from Chelsea in 2023, Arteta will need to discover that soon and Sesko could be the player to bring it out of him.
