In order to maintain law and order in Pune Rural District, Resident Deputy Collector Jyoti Kadam has issued prohibitory orders under Section 37 (1) and (3) of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951, from 12:05 a.m. on May 31 to 12:00 a.m. on June 13.

According to this order, carrying any incendiary or explosive substances, stones, or weapons—including those intended to be thrown, or instruments that can cause bodily harm—is prohibited. This includes sticks, spears, swords, clubs, guns, and any object that can be used to inflict injury. Additionally, displaying and burning pictures of any person, symbolic corpses, or pictures of leaders, as well as shouting loud slogans or playing musical instruments, has been banned.

It is also prohibited to make inflammatory speeches that may endanger civility or morality, threaten the security of the State, or incite the overthrow of the State. Making or distributing such materials among the public, behaving in a way that may disrupt law and order, gathering more than five people under sub-section (3) of Section 37, and holding meetings or processions without prior permission from the Pune Rural Superintendent of Police are also restricted.

This order will not apply to persons in government service or those required to carry weapons as part of their duties, as permitted by their superiors.

The order further states that any violation will result in punishment under Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.
