Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the filmmaker who has made waves with films like Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh and Animal, is often surrounded by controversy for how he portrays women in his work. Despite being labeled a misogynist by some critics, not much is known about his personal life, especially his marriage.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga has been married to Manisha Reddy since 2014. The couple has two children: a son, Arjun Reddy, named after Vanga’s debut film, and a daughter who was born in 2020. Manisha keeps a low profile and prefers to stay out of the limelight, maintaining a private Instagram account that is followed by Sandeep. The director himself speaks very little about his wife, choosing to draw a clear line between his family and professional life.

However, in a rare moment after the release of Animal in 2023, he shared Manisha’s reaction to the film, revealing that she felt it contained excessive violence. In another interview, Sandeep Reddy Vanga acknowledged her unwavering support during tough times, including the financial struggles he faced while working on Arjun Reddy. He considers his family a strong pillar behind his journey, with even his son’s name serving as a tribute to his first cinematic success.

On the professional front, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is now immersed in his next major project Spirit which will feature Prabhas and Triptii Dimri in lead roles. Initially, Deepika Padukone was also part of the cast but reports say that she was dropped due to disagreements over her terms, including limited working hours, a high fee and a share in the film’s profits.

The film is still in the final stages of scripting, with shooting expected to commence in October this year. Although plot details are under wraps, it’s known that Spirit will be an action-packed drama. Sandeep Reddy Vanga has spent six months fine-tuning the story to ensure it stands out in the genre.

To prepare for his role as a police officer, Prabhas is expected to undergo a major physical transformation, with Sandeep Reddy Vanga advising him to adopt a leaner look. Backed by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, Spirit is aiming for a theatrical release in 2027.
