Hugh Jackman and his former wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, have finally decided how to divide their money and houses after getting divorced. Their total wealth is around $387 million, which includes many fancy homes in the U.S., the U.K., and Australia.
Deborra filed for divorce in New York on May 23, almost two years after they first said they were splitting up. The divorce is uncontested, which means they both agreed to everything and now just need a judge to sign off on it.
A person close to the couple said that Deborra is happy with the deal, especially because she will get a good amount of spousal support (money from Hugh). The source added that there won’t be any big fights or drama and that this agreement gave Deborra the peace and closure she needed.
Hugh Jackman will keep:
Their three-story New York City apartment, which they bought in 2008 for $21 million. This same apartment was once on the market for $39 million. Hugh now lives there with his new girlfriend, Broadway star Sutton Foster.
Their vacation home near Bondi Beach in Australia.
Deborra-Lee Furness will get:
A large share of their money and properties, and
Ongoing financial support from Hugh.
The couple didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement before getting married, which made the process a bit more difficult at first. A source said this was because they believed they’d stay together forever when they married.
Still, after months of talking things through, they managed to agree on everything, including how to split their money and who would pay for what in the future.
The two were married for 27 years and adopted two children, Oscar (24) and Ava (19). Even though they’re no longer married, both parents say they’ll keep co-parenting and supporting their kids together.
