Early on Saturday,  a wedding procession automobile in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district lost control and plunged into a ditch, killing five people and injuring eight more. The Majhila police station is located close to Kusuma hamlet, where the accident occurred. The wounded were quickly taken to the hospital so they could get care.

The vehicle transporting the wedding guests was headed to Kusama village in Majhila to attend the wedding ceremony, according to Circle Officer Anuj Mishra. Five of the wounded passengers were pronounced dead by medics after they were all taken to Shahbad Community Health Centre (CHC). Due to their serious condition, six of them have been sent to the Higher Center.

“An ambulance took thirteen patients to the hospital. Five of them have died, and eight are gravely wounded,” EMO CHC Dr. Zeeshan Khan told the news agency IANS.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, has acknowledged the traffic disaster that occurred in the Hardoi area. The relatives of the dead have received condolences from CM Yogi. The Chief Minister has instructed the staff to expedite the relief effort and get at the location right now. Instructions for the appropriate care of the wounded have been provided by the CM.

“On the night of May 31, 2025, a wedding procession of Neeraj Son of Ram Sevak from Mahula Patiyan, Pali police station area, was returning from Kusuma village in Majhila police station area,” stated CO Anuj Mishra.
