star Danny Miller has issued an apology to his followers for any "confusion" that might have arisen from a recent post about his dad, who is battling dementia. Danny joined the cast of ITV's Emmerdale as Aaron Dingle back in 2008 and made a permanent return to the soap in 2023 after a two-year hiatus.

The 34-year-old is the son of Vince Miller, who previously working as a VIP host at Manchester United. During a recent appearance on Loose Women, Danny issued an update about his father's health. He said: "He's watching in his care home in Manchester... But, yeah, my dad is the reason I'm in the business. The truth of the matter is I've lost my dad and that's hard for me to cope with because I really, really miss him.

"I really miss speaking on the phone to him, it's just not possible anymore. Sometimes when we visit him we get the opportunity to have a good visit, and his bad visits as well... It's a horrible, horrible, terminal illness and it's the long goodbye."

He concluded with emotion: "I love my dad so much, and he's the reason that I'm sat here talking to you today."

After the interview, Danny clarified any misunderstandings about his father's condition, explaining that while he battles with dementia, he is still alive.

His message read: "Hey guys! Just feel the need to say my Dad is very much still with us. 'I've lost my Dad' in context meaning that I have lost the person he WAS to dementia."

He apologised for any confusion or distress his initial comment may have caused, reaffirming: "Sorry for anyone's confusion and/or upset if it has been taken wrong. But Big Vince lives on, just through a horrible illness. Lots of love x".

Danny appeared on Loose Women to discuss his character's wedding to John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth). Earlier in the week, their nuptials were disrupted by the arrival of Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), Aaron's ex-husband.

Robert, who has spent the past six years behind bars, revealed to Aaron that he had been released after appealing his sentence. Despite arriving to stop the wedding, Robert was shattered after Aaron claimed he no longer loved him and it was John who he wanted to be with.

Aaron and John ended up tying the knot during Friday's (May 30) instalment of the ITV soap, while Robert ended up back behind bars after missing his parole hearing.
