Palghar, Maharashtra: A fatal road accident occurred on Saturday near Mendhwan Ghat along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway, claiming the lives of three individuals, including a woman. Two others, one of them a child, sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

The accident took place when a high-speed Renault Duster car, travelling from Gujarat towards Mumbai, rammed into the rear of a stationary container truck. The collision was so severe that three passengers died on the spot, according to the ABP Majha report.

Local police and rescue teams reached the scene promptly after being alerted. They assisted in pulling the injured out of the wreckage and sent them to the hospital for urgent medical care.

The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed, pending notification of their families. Police officials have begun an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Preliminary observations suggest that overspeeding and possible driver distraction may have contributed to the tragedy.
