Karun Nair scored a scintillating double hundred on Day 2 of the unofficial Test between India A and England Lions at Canterbury. He completed his 200 in style with a boundary in the 101st over, receiving thumping applause and social media excitement from fans alike. This was Nair's fourth double century in First-Class cricket, complementing his impressive tally. His best stands at 328 for Karnataka in the season of 2015/16. Fans remembered him fondly for his legendary Test triple century against England in 2016, applauding his class and demanding a national recall. Prior to this knock, Nair's highest for India A was an unbeaten 114 against South Africa A in 2015 but this innings brought everyone back to mind about the potential he still has.

Karun Nair Begins England Tour in Style

 

Nair has been named in India's team for the forthcoming five-Test series against England, which begins on June 20. With this double ton, he has given a promising start to the tour. Having played for India eight years ago, this performance will definitely catch the eye of the selectors and head coach Gautam Gambhir.
