BBC Radio 1 star has admitted that he doesn't tune in to listen to his co-stars. The Irish radio DJ shared that he had a very good reason for 'snubbing' his colleagues when he has some downtime, and prefers to listen to another of the BBC's offerings instead.

Speaking at BBC's Big Weekend at Sefton Park in last weekend, Dean, who also starred on I'm a Celebrity, exclusively told Express.co.uk: "I listen to Radio 1 Anthems, which is our stream that you can catch any time of the day. But it has less chat." Explaining why he chooses not to listen to his BBC Radio 1 co-stars, Dean shared: "The way that I can describe it is like you going into your job on your day off and watching everybody else work, when you should be at home."

The radio presenter also shared that on his days off, he enjoys cleaning up while bopping along to the Anthems show - in just his pants. He told us: "On a Friday, when I'm not on the radio, I get up after having a lie in till about 8am, because I get up at 4am normally. And then I start blitzing the flat. But I strip off. I love cleaning in my pants. I just love it, and then I have Radio 1 Anthems on.

"I do turn it off when it gets to my show though, because I don't want to listen to myself back. I listen to the shows back to make sure it sounds alright but I don't like hearing myself on the radio just for like 'oh this sounds good'."

Speaking about life outside of radio, Dean, who is no stranger to TV, told us that he would seriously consider competing on as he "loves to dance".

He explained: "I would really, really enjoy a show like that because I love to dance. I don't know whether you've seen me do my DJ sets but I just can't stand still. When the music is on I am dancing.

"It's definitely one of my favourite shows on TV. I love sitting down and watching it with my mum at Christmas time, we always watch it on Christmas Day. But yeah, who knows, never say never.

"For now, though, I'm just still processing the jungle and still on a complete high from the jungle. We've all been talking about the fact that it won't be long before they're rumouring who is in the next cast and we're all going to feel jealous that they are going to go and have that life-changing amazing experience."
