“This decision has no contractual basis. It is a moral judgment. There is no clause that prevents me from making these videos,” Soares told The globe earlier this week.

Soares said she remains passionate about futsal but refuses to accept interference in her personal life. She maintained that she did nothing wrong, though some accused her of being a “bad example for children.”

Despite the backlash, Soares said her new career has given her “freedom and financial independence.”

“I was judged, excluded, and felt betrayed even by other women. But I also achieved something: freedom and financial independence. Today I feel stronger,” she told NewsX.

Before launching her OnlyFans account, Soares earned just $96 a month—barely enough to cover her transportation for training. Within four weeks of joining the platform, she claimed to have made nearly $10,000.

“It’s sad but I leave the sport with a clear conscience. If I’d had this financial return from sport, I would never have left it,” she said.

In a later interview with F5Soares admitted she had exaggerated some of her claims, saying she partly blamed the club out of resentment and a desire to be heard.

Soares said she suffered an injury during a training session while during a play with a teammate. She claimed the club was unhelpful, delaying surgery and ultimately scheduling it at a time she could not attend. She also revealed that opposition came not only from her teammates but also from her coach and family.

“They hate me, and I don’t understand why,” she added.

In October 2024, Soares filed a lawsuit against Celemaster Uruguaianense in the Uruguaiana Labor Court, demanding $18,977.52 in compensation for unpaid labor benefits. The case was dismissed on Dec. 4.

After her story went viral, F5 reached out to Celemaster Uruguaianense for comment. The club denied firing Soares due to her involvement with adult content and said she had voluntarily left the team. Coach Andre Malfussi and club president Auri Guedes Pereira rejected her claims, accusing media and social media users of spreading misinformation.

Soares currently has over 241,000 followers on Instagram. She is not the first female athlete to produce adult content. Others who have made similar transitions include former footballer Madelene Wright, golfer Paige Spiranac, volleyball player Kayla Simmons and ice hockey player Mikayla Demaiter.
