Mumbai Indians beat Gujarat Titans by 20 runs in the eliminator clash, securing their place in the Qualifier-2 of the Indian Premier League 2025, where they will face Punjab Kings. MI star pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling ability was at peak display one again, as he dismissed GT star batter Washington Sundar with a deadly yorker.
Coming to bat first, Mumbai Indians posted a score of 228 runs in their given 20 overs. In a reply to this, Gujarat Titans’ Sai Sudarshan and Washington Sundar were the players who were carrying the team in the middle phase of the match.
Even though Gujarat Titans lost two wickets in the early phase, they had scored 148 runs by the 13th over. However, Jasprit Bumrah came to bowl the 14th over, and secured the wicket of Washington Sundar- which was a great shock to GT.

On the very first ball of the 14th over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a great and an accurate yorker ballto which Washington Sundar had no defense. This ball went from between Sundar’s feet and broke the leg stump. The video of this dismissal is going viral on social media.
Speaking about the match, Mumbai Indians came in to bat first and Rohit Sharma (81 off 50 balls) and Jonny Bairstow (47 off 22 balls) set the base for the team to post out a total of 228 for 5 wickets in their given 20 over.
In a response, Sai Sudarshan- who is the top run-scorer in this season- scored a 49-ball-80, along with Washington Sundar (48 off 24 balls) helped Gujarat Titans massively, but the team could only post a total of 208 runs in their 20 overs and got eliminated from the tournament.
