Refreshing, slightly sweet, but tangy-that's what you want from orange juice. But with so many on the market, it's hard to know which is the tastiest. That's why I recently decided to test juices to see how they compare to one another. I tested juices from , , , , , , , and M&S, comparing them to Tropicana.

I decided to try orange juice with bits not from concentrate, which means that, although slightly pricier, the juice is directly extracted from oranges and bottled, with no water being added back in. The taste test was super interesting, and I was surprised by the results.

Despite its bargain price, Aldi's orange juice had barely any bits to be found and was slightly watery.

Saying that, it had a great flavour which wasn't too sweet nor tangy, but the consistency was slightly too thin for me.

Lidl's orange juice tasted like orange squash and left a funny aftertaste in my mouth.

It had a thicker consistency than Aldi's and tasted more of orange, but I couldn't get past the squash-like flavour.

Morrisons' orange juice had a nice consistency, but the flavour was so sour I could barely drink a mouthful.

It also had barely any bits present despite shaking the bottle a number of times. I wasn't a huge fan as it was a bit watery and lacked flavour.

Asda's orange juice tasted artificial, and I was surprised that it was orange juice at all, and not squash.

Despite purchasing one with bits, the bits were lacking, and it was a bit too citrusy for me.

Score: 3/10

Tesco's orange squash came last in the taste test for me, with a funny aftertaste and a very sweet taste.

It was thick in consistency, but too thick to the point it felt like I was drinking a smoothie despite giving it a shake.

Score: 1/10

This orange juice was super tasty and had a great balance of flavours. It wasn't too sweet nor too bitter and had a great amount of bits.

It smelt fresh, tasted fresh and easily took the top spot for me in the orange juice taste test.

Score: 10/10

The most expensive on the taste test was, unsurprisingly, Tropicana. It had a great amount of bits, had good flavour, but it didn't beat Sainsbury's for me.

I thought Tropicana's orange juice would be a standout, but I actually couldn't decipher between them.

Score: 8/10

M&S' juice lacked slightly in flavour but had a great consistency and was a pleasure to drink with breakfast.

Saying that, it's the same price as Sainsbury's, and I much preferred their juice over this one.

Waitrose's juice tasted super fresh but to the point where it was way too sour for me to manage.

It had a great consistency and a good amount of bits, and if you're into more sour juices, you'd love this one.

Score: 5/10

Sainsbury's was by far my personal favourite, with a great balance of flavour and bits. It wasn't too sweet nor too tangy and went down great with sweet and savoury breakfasts.

I also think it was definitely worth the money, despite being more expensive than its rivals. It's also important to note that the taste of orange juices is all down to personal preference, and whilst I don't like mine too bitter, some may.
