Rules of change in ODI and Test cricket: Some important changes are going to happen in international cricket from June 1. Many rules will change in white ball and red ball cricket. This will make the game more exciting. Old balls will be used in ODI cricket. The conversion substitute rule will be changed. Apart from this, some new arrangements will also be seen regarding DRS. Some changes are also being made in the rules to catch taken on the boundary line.
Use of old balls
According to a report, two balls will no longer be used in one-day cricket throughout 50 overs. For the past several years, new balls are being used at both ends. Thus, the balls were only 25 overs old by 50 overs, which did not help the fast bowlers in reverse swing, but according to the new rules to be implemented from July 2025, two balls will be used for 17 overs, but only one ball will be used from the 35th over, which will be selected by the fielding team and its captain. The ICC has provided such information to the member countries. If the match is 25 overs or less then only one ball will be used in an innings.

Changes in conversion subsidy rules
Some changes are also being made in the Constitution Substitute Rules. Before the match starts, the teams will have to mention the names of five convention replacement players to the match referee. It will include a wicketkeeper, a batsman, a seam bowler, a spinner and an all -rounder. If a player suffers a head injury during the match, then the same type of player will be placed in his place. Till now this rule has been misused, in which the batsman also takes on the field when the bowler is injured. Match referee can give some discounts in it.
Catch on boundary, DRS changes
The situation regarding boundary lines and DRS will soon become clear and what changes will be made in them. In Test cricket, these rules will be implemented after the final of the World Test Championship 2025, when the Test series will be played between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh from 17 June. At the same time, the new rules in ODI International Cricket will be applicable in ODIs from July, when ODI series will be played between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
