Tennis ace Jiri Lehecka showed his class with a respectable message for Jannik Sinner just moments after being thrashed by the world No.1. Lehecka was hammered in straight sets against Sinner, who won the match 6-0, 6-1, 6-2.

In truth, it was barely a contest at all. Sinner's quality was far too much for Lehecka, with it becoming clear after the first set that the three-time Grand Slam winner would get the job done in double quick time. That proved to be the case, with the Italian taking just over one hour and 30 minutes to get the job done.

Going off Lehecka's social media post from after the match, it's clear he wasn't too disheartened by the result, as the 23-year-old posted a photo on Instagram, captioning it: "This photo sums up the whole match. You think I won a match or a set? No, no. This is the feeling when you win 1 game against Jannik Sinner at Roland Garros." It was a classy response from Lehecka following his on-court battering.

While tougher tests await Sinner, starting with tomorrow's fourth-round clash against Andrey Rublev, his performances in the French capital have been ominous for the chasing pack. He's yet to drop a set in the tournament so far, with a run to his first French Open final and a maiden Roland-Garros title, becoming a real possibility.

It's likely he'll have to come up against familiar foe Carlos Alcaraz in order to achieve that, with the formidable duo having been drawn on opposite sides of the bracket. But on his showings so far, Sinner said: "This morning I felt that I was feeling the ball very good but, again, the conditions can change from one moment to the other.

"There was rain a little bit at some point, and then after it was nearly sunny. This changed how the ball bounces and how fast it goes through the air. Things can change so quickly from one day to the other. We saw this in Rome [after defeating Casper Ruud]. Nobody believed me, but in half an hour I lost the first set 6-1 [to Tommy Paul in the following match]. So I have to be very careful."

, with Sinner returning to action on Monday for his match against Rublev. The winner of that will play either Alexander Bublik or Jack Draper in the quarter-final.
