Reports suggest that BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla is the leading candidate to replace Roger Binny as the interim BCCI President starting July 2025. Shukla has been a prominent figure in Indian cricket administration for years. He has previously served as the Chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has held several key roles within the BCCI.

Rajeev Shukla is not only a veteran cricket administrator but also a seasoned politician and former journalist. According to Cricblogger, a senior BCCI official confirmed that Shukla’s name is actively being discussed among board members as a replacement for Binny.

Roger Binny took over as BCCI President in 2022, succeeding Sourav Ganguly. Binny, a legendary cricketer, was a vital part of India’s historic 1983 World Cup-winning team, claiming the highest number of wickets in that tournament. During his presidency, Binny focused on strengthening Indian cricket globally and implementing administrative reforms. However, the BCCI’s age limit policy means he will have to vacate the position this year.
