Cricket News Desk. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to change some new rules from next month to make Test and ODI as well as T20 format even more exciting. Apart from the use of 2 new balls in ODIs, the rules of catch taken on the boundary line are being changed and the conversion substitute rule is also being changed. The biggest impact of changes in the rules will be seen in the ODI format, in which the bowlers will benefit more.
Now only one ball will be used after 35 overs in ODIs
In the last few years, the dominance of the batsmen in the ODI format has been completely seen, in which it becomes a little difficult for the bowlers to get reverse swing due to two new balls from both ends. According to a report by a cricbage, the ICC has changed the rules for the use of 2 balls in ODIs, using 2 balls for 17–17 overs, after which only one ball will be used after 35 overs, which will help the bowlers to achieve reverse swing in the last over, which will make it a little difficult for the batsmen to score fast.
The captain of the fielding team will decide from the 35th over which ball to use. If for some reason the match is played 25 overs or less, only one ball will be used in that situation. This new rule in ODIs will be applicable from the ODI series starting between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh from July 2.
Catch and DRS will also change on boundary line
Due to the rising level of fielding, such catchs are being taken on the boundary line, which were not even thought about earlier, while there are many situations in which players are unhappy with some decisions. Now the ICC has decided to make some changes in the DRS rule except the catch on the boundary line, which will be given soon.
The rule of Concisition Substitute will also change
The ICC has also decided to make changes in the rules of the Convention Substitute, in which teams will now have to give the match referee to the match referee for their five players for the convention replacement before the match starts. It will include a wicketkeeper, a spinner, an all -rounder, a batsman and a fast bowler’s name. In such a situation, if a player is out due to concentration during the match, then another player will be included in the same way. In Test cricket, these rules will be implemented after the final of the World Test Championship 2025 when the two -match Test series between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will start from 17 June.
