An attempt has been made to derail the Delhi-Saharanpur passenger train going from Delhi to Shamli in UP. Some mischievous elements had placed an iron pipe of about 10 feet long on the railway track. Stones were also laid on the track. However, due to the understanding of the loco pilot, a big accident was averted.
According to the information, when the train reached between Shamli and Balwa station at around 10:30 pm, pipes and big stones were found on the track. However, a lot of untoward incident was averted due to the awareness of the loco pilot. The loco pilot saw the pipe from a distance on the track. Due to which he immediately applied emergency brake. Because of which the train stood in the forest for a long time.

Officers reached the spot
Passengers started getting upset due to the train stopping here. He faced inconvenience. As soon as the incident came to know about the incident, RPF, GRP and Shamli Superintendent of Police Ramsevak Gautam, ASP Santosh Kumar Singh reached the spot along with the police force. The officers inspected the scene and also investigated the surrounding area. Police investigation has revealed that these iron pipes were stolen from tube wells, which were later placed on the railway track.
