Punjab Kings (PBKS) got off to a fiery start in their run chase against Mumbai Indians (MI), with smashing 20 runs in the fifth over of the innings against star pacer Jasprit Bumrah. The high-stakes Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will choose who faces Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2025 Final on June 3.

As PBKS were chasing a target of 204, PBKS had Inglis and Priyansh Arya at the crease when MI’s Bumrah was introduced for the fifth over of the powerplay. Inglis showed no pressure and immediately took on the experienced pacer.

On the very first ball of the over, Inglis flicked a delivery wide of mid-wicket and used the angle to send the ball racing to the boundary. After a couple of balls, Bumrah delivered a slower off-cutter outside off, but Inglis got on the front foot and launched it over long-on for a six.

On the fifth ball of the over, he pierced the in-field once again by beating the square leg fielder to get to another four. He finished the over in style while slashing a short-of-length ball pitched outside off. The top-edge flew over Reece Topley at third man, the tallest fielder on the field, for another maximum while completing a 20-run over.

Earlier in the match, posted a total of 203 for 6. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma both played fluent knocks, scoring 44 runs each. Jonny Bairstow contributed 38 off 24 balls, while Naman Dhir chipped in with 37 off just 18 deliveries. For PBKS, Azmatullah Omarzai claimed two wickets in his four-over spell.

PBKS need to chase down 204 runs to book their place in the IPL 2025 Final. MI, on the other hand, will be eyeing a victory to move one step closer to clinching their sixth IPL title.
