IIT Delhi BS Chemistry 2025: IIT Delhi, a leading institute in the field of engineering and research education, has announced the launch of a new 4-year BS in Chemistry program from the academic session 2025. This will be the first Bachelor of Science course to be started at IIT Delhi.

The aim of the course is to advance the study of chemical science in a multidisciplinary manner. With this, students will not only be able to gain in-depth chemistry knowledge but will also learn to solve problems from an engineering perspective.

Admission will be through JEE Advanced.

Admission to this program will be available only through JEE (Advanced). Candidates who pass this exam can choose this course during JoSAA 2025 counseling.

What will be the course structure?

According to S Nagendran, Head of the Chemistry Department of IIT Delhi, this course will provide a balanced education to the students in both science and engineering. Program Coordinator Ravi P Singh said that general subjects will be taught in the two semesters of the first year B.Tech. The second year will have core chemistry subjects, while the third and fourth years will include research-based multidisciplinary courses.

Students will also get the option to do a minor from another department so that they can develop skills according to their interests.

Career and placement prospects

Students passing out from this course will be able to make a career in pharmaceuticals, semiconductor, material science, manufacturing, defense, oil and gas, chemical consulting, and automobile industries.
