ITV's Code of Silence concluded with a bang, revealing the fate of characters Liam Barlow (Kieron Moore) and Braden Moore (Joe Absolom). The final episode kicked off with the shocking revelation that Liam had intended to abscond alone with the necklace all along.

Ben Lawford (Nathan Armarkwei), fresh out of surgery and recovering from a gunshot wound, was the focus of his fellow officers' concern, who were determined that his sacrifice wouldn't be "for nothing".

The team requested Alison to send a message to Liam in hopes of tracking him down if he checked his messages, while Alison and her mother were whisked away to a safehouse.

Braden, on the run, was taken aback by the fact that Liam had double-crossed him. Meanwhile, Helen Redman (Beth Goddard) and Joseph Holhurst (Andrew Scarborough) were hauled in for questioning.

Regrettably for the team, Helen maintained the upper hand, alleging that the entire heist was orchestrated by Liam and Braden.

In a surprising twist, it was revealed that Liam had altered his surname since his time in foster care.

DI James Marsh unearthed the truth that the man killed in the previous heist, Charlie, was actually Liam's foster father, whom he held in high regard.

It emerged that Liam had stolen the necklace for revenge, intending to make Braden and Helen pay for their actions.

Liam arranged a rendezvous with Alison, proposing they elope together. However, she wanted him to testify against Helen and Joseph.

Liam, not wanting to face a long stint in prison, was unable to contact the police.

Following their encounter, Alison returned to the Canterbury Tap where she encountered Braden.

In an attempt to entice Liam back with the necklace, he held Alison captive in a warehouse.

Before surrendering the necklace to Braden, Liam bid farewell to his foster mum, believing he would have to live life on the lam.

He exchanged the necklace for Alison's freedom with Helen, but, in a surprising turn of events, he had also alerted the police.

While Braden held Liam at gunpoint, Liam cleverly used sign language to instruct Alison 'police, go' instead of 'please go', alerting her to the imminent arrival of the police.

Alison was stunned that Liam had sacrificed himself for her, and on the day of his court hearing, he revealed he was continuing to learn British Sign Language.

He admitted guilt to conspiracy to rob, while Braden and Helen were also apprehended for their involvement. Joseph was nicked after being charged with money laundering.

As for Alison, she and her mum relocated to a new flat for a fresh start, and James surprised her with a £50,000 reward for her assistance. He urged her to invest some of it in a forensic lip reading course, assuring her she would be a highly sought-after asset.
