Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Warning for hot and humid conditions across several districts in Odisha for the next five days, despite the possibility of isolated light to moderate rainfall in some interior areas.
From June 3 to June 7, regions such as Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati are predicted to experience uncomfortable weather. The IMD has advised residents to stay vigilant, keep hydrated, and limit sun exposure, particularly during peak afternoon hours.
While light to moderate thundershowers are anticipated in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, and parts of southern Odisha, the majority of the state is expected to remain dry.
District-wise Forecast:
The Yellow Warning will remain in effect along the coastal areas until June 7, with no significant relief from the rising discomfort index.
The IMD has urged residents in the affected districts to adhere to safety precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses and dehydration. The forecast from June 9 to June 12 indicates a continuation of dry and humid weather across most of the state.
