icon was inundated with well-wishes after his wife Sally, 47, issued a warm tribute to celebrate the rocker's birthday on social media. On Sunday (June 1), the actress shared a photo of the 78-year-old who seemed to be on holiday and embracing the warm weather.
Ronnie could be seen basking under the heat on a sun lounger on white sandy beach with views of the blue glittering sea wearing nothing but swimming shorts. Alongside the snap, Sally wrote: "Happy birthdaaaaaaaay @ronniewood take it easy and have a great day!" It proved to be a week of celebrations for the couple who also shared a rare family photo as their twin daughters, Alice and Gracie, who turned nine on Saturday, May 31.
The twins are the musician's fifth and sixth children, but his first with Sally, who is a theatre producer. His other children are Jesse, 48, with his first wife, late model Krissy Findlay-Wood, daughter Leah, 46.
He is also a proud dad to son Tyrone, 41, from his second marriage to Jo Wood, and Jamie, 50, Jo's son from a previous marriage, whom Wood adopted.
Ronnie and Sally dated for six months before they tied the knot in 2012 at the Dorchester hotel in London, with Rod Stewart stepping up as his best man.
The legend previously discussed their 30-year age gap and admitted that his wife is often mistaken for his daughter. Ronnie previously told Hello! magazine: "Once in a while, she gets mistaken for my daughter."
Sally, who was born in the same year as Ronnie's daughter Leah, added: "But that is the age gap, so it isn't unreasonable for someone to think that.
"It seems to bother other people more than it bothers us, and then you have to remember that you don't know these people because the people who do know us don't flinch about it."
At the time, she also admitted to wishing the rocker was younger because of the amount of time they have left together and said: "Yes, but only from the point of view that you can't go on forever, so it's about the amount of time we'll have together."
