New Delhi: Anupamafeaturing Rupali Ganguly in the main role, has maintained its position as the top show in the weekly TRP ratings. Nevertheless, the series is currently facing criticism from social media users due to its ongoing storyline.

In a recent episode, Aaryan is portrayed as dying from a drug overdose. The Kothari family is left in profound grief following Aaryan’s death. Amidst their sorrow, the Kotharis start to blame Anupama for Aaryan’s demise, mirroring the Shah family’s actions. This drama has prompted online users to express their frustration, targeting the show’s creators, including Rajan Shahi and director Romesh Kalra.

What happens in Anupama?

Anupama discovered Aryan’s drug addiction on the day of their wedding. She confronted him and insisted that he disclose the truth to his family. Aryan pleaded for understanding and vowed to Anupama that he would confess the following day. Unfortunately, Aryan passed away the next morning. Prem, Rahi, Khyati, Parag, Mahi, and others were left in disbelief. When Anupama disclosed that Aryan was set to reveal the truth that same day, everyone in the Kothari family turned against her. Khyati, Prem, and Rahi kicked Anupama out of the house, holding her responsible for Aryan’s death.

In the teaser for the upcoming episode, the Shahs are depicted rejecting Anupama for concealing Aryan’s drug problem. She then takes to the streets and dances in front of the men present on the road at night. Following the release of the promo, online users criticized the producers and questioned their portrayal of women on television.

Netizens backlashes

Netizens criticized the show, one user wrote,” People watch shows for entertainment!!!! But imagine watching #Anupamaa after having a hectic dayyyyy HEADACHE !!!!!!!!”

Another wrote, ”DKP needs to be thrashed left and right for showing what they are showing. You can’t stoop so low just for the sake of trp! It’s fcuking disturbing to watch this! DKP shows r hell bent on trying to prove that it’s a curse to be a woman.”

Yet aother user added, DKP, is this how you treat your fl? Though I don’t like Anupama’s character because she is obsessed with her exes and her mahanta traits, the way she was dragged out of her daughter’s sasural, that too when she wasn’t at fault, today is truly disgusting.”

For those who are not aware, Randeep Rai portrayed the character of Aryan. Following his departure from the series, the producers are introducing a time jump that will depict Anupama facing challenges in Mumbai as she attempts to rebuild her life.
