WBSCC Teacher Recruitment 2025: Due to the West Bengal teacher recruitment scam, about 25000 education personnel including teachers have lost their jobs. Due to this, there is a political uproar in West Bengal. Meanwhile, the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has issued a notification for new recruitment for more than 35000 posts of teachers. Under this, assistant teachers will be recruited in aided, sponsored secondary and higher secondary schools. The online application process for this recruitment will start on June 16. The last date for filling out the application form has been fixed as 14 July 2025.

For this teacher recruitment in West Bengal, one has to apply by visiting the website of West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) westbengalssc.com. According to the notification, there are a total of 35726 vacancies of assistant teachers. 23212 vacancies are for secondary class teachers (classes nine and ten) and 12514 vacancies are for higher secondary teachers (classes 11-12).

Educational Qualification

To become an assistant teacher, one must have graduated with 50 percent marks. Also, candidates should have a B.Ed degree.

Age Limit

The maximum age of the candidates has been fixed at 40 years. Candidates of reserved category will get relaxation in the maximum age limit.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on written examination, educational qualification, and interview.

Application Fee

General category candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 500. At the same time, the application fee for SC/ST/Divyang category candidates is Rs 200.
