The occasion was Kammula’s celebration of 25 years in cinema, which took place on May 31, 2025, with the presence of Chiranjeevi adding to the emotional significance.

Sharing a series of photos with Sekhar Kammula, he wrote a message in Telugu, saying he was delighted to know that he inspired the filmmaker’s journey. “It’s a joy to have a fan like you, and I’m proud to be a part of your 25-year journey. I love how your films blend subtle entertainment with social commentary,” he wrote.

As Kammula celebrates this milestone, he is also preparing for the release of his next film, Kubera, a social thriller starring Dhanush . Co-written and directed by Kammula, the trilingual film is being shot in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. The film features an ensemble cast including Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil and is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on June 20, 2025.
