RCB vs PBKS Final is a Big Deal

The excitement for this final was already sky-high. Neither Punjab Kings nor Royal Challengers Bengaluru has ever lifted the IPL trophy. RCB made it to the final three times previously (2009, 2011, and 2016) but failed every time. Punjab Kings return to the final after 11 years. Their previous final was in 2014, when they were defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders.

This season, both the teams have performed well. RCB defeated PBKS in Qualifier 1 courtesy of Phil Salt's aggressive 56. Punjab Kings defeated Mumbai Indians and made it to the final with captain Shreyas Iyer scoring unbeaten 87 to take PBKS into the ultimate stage.

Finally, after a jam-packed and exciting cricketing event of more than two months, it depends on this one match. It was in 2022, when Gujarat Titans, who in their inaugural season, lifted the trophy and became a new team apart from MI, CSK, KKR, RR and SRH to win the title. This time, after three years, the is about to have a new title holder.
