When is Outrageous set to premiere?

Outrageous, a daring new period drama based on the real-life Mitford sisters and their extraordinary lives, is slated for release later this month.

The six-part series will air on Thursday, 19th June at 9pm on UKTV, while international BritBox subscribers can tune in from 18th June.

British viewers can also watch episodes weekly on Thursdays on U&Drama at 9pm.

Outrageous will be available as a boxset, with each episode running for an hour.

The show marks the first original series from UKTV and promises to be a captivating watch, reports .

Outrageous has been penned by Sarah Williams, whose previous works include BBC's The Long Song, Flesh and Blood, and the Hollywood film Becoming Jane.

Who stars in Outrageous?

Outrageous features a stellar cast led by and Beecham House actress Bessie Carter, who portrays Nancy Mitford, the eldest of the Mitford sisters and serves as the narrator.

She is joined by Isobel Jesper Jones as Pamela Mitford, an actress known for her roles in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, The Serpent Queen on Starz, and The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself.

Joanna Vanderham, known for Warrior and Crime, stars as the notorious Diana Mitford.

Shannon Watson, star of The Jetty and Say Nothing, plays Unity Mitford.

Casualty's Zoe Brough takes on the role of Jessica Mitford.

Orla Hill, known for Hetty Feather and Swallows and Amazons, portrays Deborah Mitford, the youngest Mitford sister.

Toby Regbo from stars as Tom Mitford, the sole brother among the sisters.

Veteran actress Anna Chancellor takes on the role of Sydney Bowles, the matriarch of the Mitford family, affectionately known as 'Muv'. With an illustrious career spanning decades, Chancellor has made a lasting impact in films and television shows such as Four Weddings and a Funeral, Pride and Prejudice (1995), Jupiter Moon, Pennyworth, and most recently My Lady Jane, among numerous other projects.

Seasoned actor James Purefoy assumes the role of David Freeman-Mitford, the patriarch of the family, also known as 'Farve', bringing his wealth of experience from notable roles in HBO's Rome, Altered Carbon, Pennyworth, and Saint-Pierre.

Joshua Sasse, known for his performances in No Tomorrow, Monarch, and Galavant, plays the part of Oswald Mosley, the fascist MP and husband of Diana Mitford.

Jamie Blackley, with credits in Becoming Elizabeth and The Last Kingdom, takes on the role of Peter Rodd.

James Musgrave, who has starred in The King's Man and Fresh Meat, plays the character of Hamish Erskine.

Calam Lynch, known for his roles in Bridgerton, Sweetpea, and Miss Austen, portrays Bryan Guinness.

Lastly, Will Attenborough, who has appeared in Our Girl and Dunkirk, plays the role of Joss.

What can audiences expect from Outrageous?

Outrageous delves into the real-life scandal and intrigue surrounding the Mitford sisters during the 1930s, as their exploits captured headlines worldwide.

The drama vows to present a "full and uncensored" account of the six sisters' lives.

Viewers can anticipate a complex web of family betrayals, public controversies, political extremism, and even imprisonment.

Writer Williams previously expressed her enthusiasm for Outrageous, stating: "I've been intrigued by these notorious sisters for many years and am thrilled to finally be bringing their stories to the screen.

"We've seen many fictionalised versions of their lives before, but in this family's case, the truth really is far stranger and more astonishing than anything you could invent.

"These six headstrong women have often been accused of being mad, bad and dangerous to know - and a couple of them were - but what they all had was the absolute courage of their convictions and to hell with the consequences. And that makes for a cracking good story."

Outrageous will be released on BritBox on June 18 outside the UK
