Swathes of the is set to roast as a 31C heatwave bakes Britain this month - with scores of cities from to set to sizzle. And the Daily Express has compiled the complete list of 51 cities in and that new suggest the mercury will reach at least 26C (78.8F).

Dramatic new heat maps by for Monday 16th June show that in will be the epicentre for a whalloping 31C (87.8F) heat spike in mid-June. It comes as experts reveal the UK has enjoyed the .

But looking ahead to mid-June, weather charts show we are in for a heat spike with temperatures soaring above 30C.

The Met Office revealed this week how Spring 2025 broke historical climate records, marking an "unprecedented season of warmth and sunshine across the UK".

All four nations have all recorded their warmest spring for mean temperature since the series began in 1884, surpassing the previous record from 2024.

This season also outshone the rest, claiming the title of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, with England recording its second sunniest spring since sunshine records began in 1910.

The Met Office said: "To put this into context, Spring 2025 is now the fourth sunniest season overall for the UK, with only three summers sunnier since 1910.

"The remarkable season unfolded month by month, beginning with a that set the tone, with above-average temperatures and significantly reduced rainfall.

"April 2025 continued the trend as the , maintaining the warm and dry pattern. May rounded off the season as the second sunniest May on record for the UK, with temperatures again exceeding the average."
