Raigad Royals (RAR) and Satara Warriors (STW) will face each other in the second match of the (MPL 2025). Their match will take place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Thursday, June 5. The Royals might be the favourites to win, given the fact that they are the inaugural champions of the league.

Satara Warriors is the rebranded name of the former Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings, who failed to make an impact in the inaugural edition of the league. In the second edition of the season, they will hope for a change in their fortunes. However, the Warriors have a tough draw, considering they will be facing the defending champions in their first match of the season.

On the other hand, the Royals will be aiming to defend their title to establish dominance in the league in the early stage of the MPL. Both teams have some of the most talented players in the country taking part in the tournament. Some of the known faces like Vicky Ostwal, Murtaza Trunkwala, Vishant More, and Rajvardhan Hangargekar will be a part of the match.

The second match of the season between the Warriors and the Royals will happen at the MCA Stadium in Pune. The wicket is usually good for batting with a bit of assistance for bowlers. On surfaces made out of the black soil, spinners tend to get a bit of turn and grip. For T20 cricket, a balanced surface is often used to ensure the batters are in the game.

In recent times, pacers get good support due to a hint of green tinge in the surface, which enables seam movement and a bit of extra bounce. As it will be an afternoon match, bowlers might play a key role in the eventual result. The dimensions of the ground are small, and the team winning the toss would not mind batting first due to the absence of the dew factor.

Raigad Royals and Satara Warriors have faced each other twice in MPL history. In as many games, neither team has any sort of advantage, as both the Warriors and the Royals have a win and a loss each. One of them could get ahead of their rivals in the H2H record after their match in MPL 2025.
