Liverpool are set to secure a deal for Bournemouth's left-back Milos Kerkez as they continue their lively start to the summer transfer window. The Reds have long been tipped to sign Kerkez, whose value has soared following an outstanding season on the South Coast.

Liverpool are now stepping up their pursuit of the 21-year-old, who has been valued at £45million by Bournemouth. Kerkez, a Hungarian international, has attracted interest from several top clubs but has increasingly hinted on social media in recent weeks that he would be open to a move to Anfield.

Liverpool are eager to refresh their left-back options with first-choice Andy Robertson now 31 and nearing the final year of his contract, while Kostas Tsimikas has seen limited Premier League action over the past two seasons.

The Reds' sporting director Richard Hughes, who has been spearheading the negotiations, has long been a supporter of Kerkez, having brought him to Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in 2023.

Liverpool are also working on a deal to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, despite having a £109m bid rejected. There is still optimism that an agreement can be reached in the coming days.

The Anfield club have already signed Jeremie Frimpong from the Bundesliga side for £29m, while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Caoimhin Kelleher have departed to join Real Madrid and Brentford respectively.
