Actress Christy Chung, 55, shared that despite the age gap with her 43-year-old husband, Chinese actor Shawn Zhang, she feels as youthful as a young girl, and the couple enjoys a strong connection.

On Tuesday, Chung expressed how well she and Zhang complement each other, explaining: “He is mature, wise, and thinks like an older man. At home, he is like an elder, knowing everything.”

Chung also mentioned that, unlike Zhang, she feels youthful and full of energy. For her, every day spent with him feels like Children’s Day, where she can enjoy doing what she loves. From adventurous activities to indulging in good food and travel, Zhang always supports her in enriching their life together.

“I don’t want to leave this world without having fully lived my life and achieved what I’ve longed for,” she added.

In a past interview with TheirChung also expressed her gratitude for Zhang’s support in raising her daughters, saying that her daughters see him as a superhero. Zhang contributes by cooking delicious meals for the family, fixing household items, and bringing joy and laughter with his jokes.

Chung and Zhang married in 2016 after meeting on a dating show the previous year, marking Chung’s third marriage. She was previously married to a Belgian man in 1998 and to Taiwanese musician Jon Yen in 2003. She and Yen separated in 2011 after having two daughters together.

Chung and Zhang do not have children together yet.

Born in Canada to a Chinese-Vietnamese father and a Vietnamese mother, Chung moved to Hong Kong in 1993 to compete in the Miss Chinese International Pageant. Despite not speaking Chinese at the time, she won the competition, which launched her acting career.

Her breakout role in the 1993 film “The Bride with White Hair 2” solidified her status as a celebrated figure in Chinese-language entertainment. She later starred alongside iconic actors such as Hong Kong’s Stephen Chow and Singaporean actor Jet Li.
