In the world of OTT, a face that has made an identity in every household only on the strength of his hard work and acting without a film background. Yes, we are talking about Jitendra Kumar, the popular actors of ‘Kota Factory’ and ‘Panchayat’, whose journey is not only inspiring, but also an example for the younger generation.

Studying from IIT Kharagpur, a job of millions in multinational company and then the dream of acting … Jitendra Kumar’s life looks no less than a film script. In this journey full of struggles, he proved himself at every turn and today he is counted among the most loved OTT actors of India.

Start from small village in Rajasthan

Born on 1 September 1990 in Khairthal village in Alwar district of Rajasthan, Jeetendra Kumar was a crazy acting since childhood. He loved to copy Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Nana Patekar. However, the family gave priority to education and sent to Kota where they prepared for IITs. Jitendra hardly cleared IIT-JEE and enrolled in civil engineering in IIT Kharagpur. It was here that he met the creative director of TVF Biswapati Sarkar. Through the ‘Hindi Technology Dramatic Society’, ties with the theater and the journey to become an actor started from there.

Left jobs, chosen acting

After graduation in 2012, Jitendra joined the TVF, but in the initial time he did not get much recognition. Due to financial constraints, he also worked as an engineer in Bangalore, but then the video of TVF ‘Munna Jazbati’ went viral. After eight months of job, he turned to Mumbai and made acting his career. While staying in Mumbai, he started giving tuition to the children and taught the students of IIT JEE himself so that the expenses could be spent. Jitendra said that I took out the old notes and started studying again. He used to teach on Sunday and acting on the rest of the day.

Identification from TVF

He played small but influential characters in shows like TVF’s ‘Pickers’, ‘Bachelors’, ‘Bisht Please!’, ‘Fathers’ and ‘Immacure’. Then came ‘Kota Factory’, in which the role of ‘Jeetu Bhaiya’ made him popular all over the country. Jitendra, who has become a source of inspiration for the students, settled in every heart from this role.

The web series ‘Panchayat’, released in 2020, brought him from house to house across India. Then came its season 2 and 3, and now soon they are going to be seen in the fourth season of ‘Panchayat’.
