Incident at Churchgate Station

A fire broke out in a shop at the bustling Churchgate railway station in South Mumbai on Thursday evening, causing panic among commuters. According to an official report from Western Railway, the incident occurred around 5:25 PM, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.


Municipal officials stated that multiple teams from the Mumbai Fire Brigade and firefighting equipment were dispatched to the scene. The operation to extinguish the flames also involved local police and municipal staff.


The fire was brought under control within minutes. Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the blaze and assess any damage. However, daily commuters experienced anxiety for a brief period as smoke filled the entire area of the busy suburban terminal.
