In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, actor and model Muzammil Ibrahim opened up about his former relationship with Bollywood icon Deepika Padukone. He disclosed that they were together for two years during her initial days in Mumbai as she embarked on her acting career.
Muzammil mentioned, "We were in a relationship for two years." He recalled being the first person Deepika met upon her arrival in the city, noting her confidence stemming from being Prakash Padukone's daughter, which made her well-known even then.
He reminisced about how Deepika initiated their relationship, but he ultimately decided to end it. "At that time, I was a star, while she was not. Now, she is a superstar, and everyone knows her. I admire her work and think she is a stunning woman who is achieving great things," he expressed.
Reflecting on their youthful days, Muzammil fondly remembered their simple yet delightful dates, saying, "We were just kids. We would take rickshaws in the rain for our outings, which was adorable. I had a better income back then, and when I bought a car, she was thrilled. Those moments are unforgettable, as I haven't had a rickshaw date since, and we were genuinely happy despite our financial situation."
He also shared a cherished memory of celebrating Deepika's birthday by having her favorite song played repeatedly at a club. "Even without money, the DJ played her favorite song for an hour and a half because I was friends with him. It was a special moment for her birthday," he recalled.
When asked about their current relationship, Muzammil mentioned, "We would occasionally talk before she got married." He noted that they maintained a friendly rapport post-breakup, congratulating each other on their successes, but lost contact after Deepika married Ranveer Singh.
