The upcoming Test series between India and England, starting June 20, will now be known as the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy. This new title honors two cricketing icons: India's legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar and England's fast bowler James Anderson, as reported by a prominent news outlet. Previously, the series was referred to as the Pataudi Trophy.
This trophy pays tribute to two of the most remarkable players in Test cricket history. Sachin Tendulkar, who amassed a record 15,921 runs, is the highest run-scorer in Test matches, having played 200 Tests from 1989 to 2013. On the other hand, James Anderson is celebrated as England's leading wicket-taker, holding the record for the most wickets by a fast bowler in Test cricket, with a total of 704 wickets.
Throughout their careers, Tendulkar and Anderson faced each other in 14 Test matches, with Anderson dismissing Tendulkar nine times, more than any other bowler.
