The EV wars are hotting up and it is the homegrown carmakers which are competing for the EV crown. The electric segment has seen various launches but the new Harrier EV from Tata follows up the Mahindra BE6 and the XEV 9e launched earlier which currently form the premium EV SUV segment. These electric SUVs also promise a lot of power and range but lets see how they compare on this crucial aspect.

The Harrier EV has either a 65 and a 75kwh battery pack with 313hp and 504Nm for the top-end AWD dual motor version while 238bhp for the single motor. The BE6 meanwhile has 79 kWh and 59 kWh battery pack and the power for the 59kwh version is 228hp while the single motor 79kwh battery pack version is 281hp and 380Nm. The XEV 9e develops 286hp and 380Nm for the 79 version and 231hp for the 59. Both have a single motor.

The Harrier EV will do 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds (boost mode) while the BE6 will do 6.7 s for BE 6e and 6.8 s for XEV 9e.

Range sees both do quite well with the official claimed range of the Harrier EV being 627km and 622km for the single and dual motor AWD version. The BE 6 meanwhile has a range of 682 km while the XEV 9e has a range of 656 km. It seems the Harrier EV and the BE6 and the XEV 9e from Mahindra have more range and power over some luxury EVs costing much more while showing how Tata and Mahindra are leading the EV space with these flagship cars.
