In the Bhavanpur area of Meerut district, a police operation in collaboration with the SWAT team resulted in the arrest of three individuals suspected of cattle trafficking following an overnight encounter.

During the exchange of gunfire, one suspect named Shoaib sustained injuries and has since been admitted to a hospital for treatment.

According to police sources, the search for the suspects began after the discovery of two cow heads in an empty plot near Gokuldham Society on June 1.

On the night of June 5-6, police attempted to stop three suspicious individuals riding a motorcycle near Ladpura village, but they opened fire on the officers. The police responded accordingly.

After a lengthy standoff, law enforcement apprehended Shoaib along with his accomplices Abdul Ahad and Shahid. Shoaib was injured during the encounter and is currently receiving medical care.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to sedating stray animals for slaughter and selling their meat. They also revealed that they have prior charges against them under the Cow Slaughter Act, Arms Act, and Gangster Act. Authorities recovered a country-made pistol and an unregistered motorcycle from the suspects.
